Uganda Can play in the World Cup-Makanaky




Uganda has the potential and talents to play in the world cup if football structures are fully developed, Makanaky who arrived in Uganda on 12/12/09 revealed. This was said during a soccer clinic organised by Kampala School of Excellence Ministries at the climax of the All-stars pre-World Cup Soccer Event

According to the midfield legend, the raw talent exhibited by the children during the different sessions if exploited well through developing youth football structures will help Uganda reach the world cup.Mr. Cyril Makanaky, one of the best players in the 1990 World Cup representing Cameroon was part of a visiting contigent of African Stars that included Cameroon's all-time goal scorer Patrick Mboma and 1990 goal hero Omam Biyik in the country for a couple of Charity events to raise funds for Kampala School of Excellence Ministries a Children's Charity based in Rubaga.

The clinic conducted by the African All stars including Kenya's Henry Mutego, Tonny Luanga, Thomas Opio, Uganda's Polly Ouma, Dan Ntale, Robert Mujabi,Robert Kiweesi and Paul Nkata, Cameroon's Omam Biyik, Cyril Makanacky, Kana Biyik and Maboang Kessack.
The clinic which attracted over 200 players was lauded by the secretary of Uganda Youth Football Association as a step in the development of football in the country. The clinic involved among many things inspirational talks from the football legends, soccer drill sessions, autograph sighing and a 30 minute photo shoot
